Dr. Colin Arnold, a Board Certified ophthalmologist since 1977, graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado in 1966. He then enrolled in and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Arnold received his ophthalmology training at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center in Portland, Oregon. Following specialized training, Dr. Arnold returned to military duty and served as both a flight surgeon and an ophthalmologist in the U.S. Air Force, where he rose to the rank of Colonel. Dr. Arnold then went on to hold the position of Chief of Flight Medicine at Mildenhall, England and later Chief of Surgery at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, California.
Retiring from the U. S. Air Force in 1986, Dr. Colin Arnold entered private practice in Sacramento. Contributing to the community he had chosen to call home, Dr. Arnold has offered his experience and expertise to train residents in ocular surgery as an associate Professor of Ophthalmology at University of California at Davis Medical School. In 1995, his colleagues recognized Dr. Arnold for his altruistic contributions in this area. Dr. Arnold also served as Chief of Surgery at Methodist Hospital, and has been a member of many quality review boards in an effort to better advocate for patient care excellence.
Dr. Arnold’s enduring dedication to medicine and the field of ophthalmology support his devoted interest and commitment to remain on the cutting edge of the technological advances which occur in this fascinating field.
